Marc Bongers, BMW Motorrad Motorsport Director:

“We are pleased to be back in Europe. This is after the first season rounds in Overseas is always a special Moment. It will also be exciting to see the team trucks and Hospitality are fully in the new color scheme, the classic BMW Motorsport colours, in the Paddock. We have, in Aragón, and for the bike some innovations in the Luggage, to come up with the aim of the competition one step closer.“

Shaun Muir, team Manager BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team:

“Before the third round in Aragón, and we look forward to driving in Europe. Here we have more Equipment, and our racing Motorhomes, what are the logistics and the overall at the route a bit easier. We look forward to further Upgrades in the area of aerodynamics, where we have since the last race in Thailand worked. The entire Team has done all the work to the vehicles and all the Equipment for the first race in Europe to prepare. If the weather fits, we can start hopefully good in the first workout, and the distance to the Top-4. Then we will see how the weekend develops. Tom and mark have been training hard, both of them looking forward to the weekend, and hopefully we can retract to the Back-to-Back week, a series of good results with Aragón and Assen.“

Tom Sykes:

“I am really looking forward to the upcoming races. We have two Back-to-Back week, but of course, we want to concentrate on Aragon. I was on this route in the past, and I hope that we can be because of the style and the layout of the course with the BMW S 1000 RR very competitive. On the largest part of the route, we are well positioned with our suspension very well. The only question mark is at a standstill, according to our present knowledge, behind our Performance on the long back straight. This is to some extent still an Unknown, but I think that the entire BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team is doing an outstanding Job. Because you have to remember that we make during the race weekend are still a lot of testing. The Plan is to just continue to enjoy the race – and I’m sure the Rest will come in the not too distant future.“

Markus Reiterberger:

“I am pleased that we are back in Europe. Aragon is a great track that I like very much. Certainly it is for me a little easier, because I’m there often risks. In the past year, I came there to cope really well and with the Superstock Bike very fast times. With my Qualifying time I would have been even at the Superbikes in the Top-8. I hope the weather is good and it is not too windy. I so hope that we will be able to make my vote a further step forward, so that I can get a better feel for the Front. Then a good weekend. My crew chief and the whole Team have analysed the findings from Buriram intense and worked through, and I know that BMW wants to bring to Spain again some of the things. It is important to work well all weekend, to improve continuously, to give good Feedback and to pull together. I hope that we will be able to make the leap into the Top-10 and that I can reward my Team for the hard work a little bit.“
