Continental launches tyre tests in the new Advanced Indoor Evaluation Center in Uvalde / Texas

7.6.2019 Hannover. Continental has 5. June, the new Advanced Indoor Evaluation Center, a facility for the Testing of tire properties, on the test site, Texas, Uvalde opened.

At the Ceremony, representatives of the Public as well as employees and managers of Continental. The company has invested around 9 million euros in the new plant, in which the properties of Passenger and light truck tires are tested. The facility is a tire for Testing all the Car models designed in the North and South American tire plants of Continental made.

“The new Advanced Indoor Evaluation Center with its latest technology allows us, original equipment and the Series of the first rank, as well as the latest Services to be able to offer,” said Thomas Neddenriep, head of the tire test in the world of Continental. “We have committed ourselves to be a preferred technology partner of vehicle manufacturers; with the help of the new test facility, we can develop new technologies in the tyre field now even faster and more to offer.”

The new test facility is the latest in the long-term strategy “Vision 2025” of the tire division of Continental. Thus, the company wants to set up in the production and distribution of tires in the world more evenly. Further investment in the research and development of the weather are, for example, independent AIBA tire testing facility at the Contidrom test track near Hannover, the High-Performance Technology Center at the tire plant in the Hessian town of Korbach, as well as the Taraxagum Lab Anklam in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. There, Continental is conducting research on cultivation and processing of dandelion as a rubber source.
