Volkswagen opens IT development center in the “Gläserne Manufaktur” in Dresden

21.6.2019. Volkswagen has opened in its Glass factory in Dresden yesterday, a new IT development centre. In the “Software Development Center and Production” (SDC Production) work in perspective, up to 80 newly recruited IT specialists in Volkswagen Industrial Cloud.

The Industrial Cloud will, in the future, the networking of all 122 of the group-wide manufacturing facilities of Volkswagen. The goal is, all of the data together and to digitize the production and logistics across the Board.

For the Transparent factory, the opening of the SDC means the consistent further development of the high-tech location and the “Center of Future Mobility”.
