Voices in front of the Sanya E-Prix:
Jens Marquardt (BMW Motorsport Director):
“The return of formula E to China is for the series and for BMW i, the great, and China is an extremely important market for the topic of electric mobility. The journey of BMW i and formula E has started 2014 with the first race in Beijing, will close now with our return, as the BMW i, Andretti Motorsport factory team is a circle. Unfortunately, we were not able to make load in Hong Kong athletic the best out of our possibilities. We have analyzed the reasons for this and derive our conclusions. In Sanya, we hope that the Strengths of our BMW i drivetrain better play and to be able to Top-up, which have led us into this season already to some excellent results. Our goal remains, with two BMW iFE.18 as many points as possible to retract.“
Roger Griffiths (team Manager BMW i, Andretti Motorsport):
“After the disappointing outcome of the race in Hong Kong, the Team is now looking forward to the Premiere in Sanya. We have not analyzed in Detail, why we are the most competitive in Hong Kong as otherwise, and we are confident that we will have in the future a strong package. We don’t know too much about the Region in which we travel in China, but we have to perform Tests in the Simulator and will therefore be prepared well. We can’t wait to go back to the race and important points for the standings.“
Alexander Sims (#27 BMW iFE.18):
“I am really looking forward to our Premiere in Sanya. The course looks at first glance relatively quickly and widely. There are long Straights and hard braking zones. After we were not able to play in Hong Kong, unfortunately, the Strengths of our package, I hope that we will find back in Sanya, back to our usual strength.“
António Félix da Costa (#28 BMW iFE.18):
“In Sanya, we all come to a new track. It’s happening, so for each Zero. I shot in the Simulator is already a couple of laps on the Layout of the course – he seems to be a lot of fun. I have the impression that energy efficiency will play a very large role, similar to the one in Marrakech, where we are very good to cope. Hopefully this will be in China in a similar way.“
