Record breaker – legendary Volkswagen vehicles
You have set with speed, endurance or economy, absolute best brands: Volkswagen Classic presented six exhibits from three decades of Volkswagen’s record-breaking history.
The recent record-breaking vehicle is a car: The Volkswagen W12 is a drove of 2001 on the high-speed course in Nardò (Italy), and international records. In 2002, the 440 kW (600 HP), the powerful experimental vehicle-improved again in all the best brands and set up a 24-hour world record with an average speed of 322,89 km/h. The records of the W12 Nardo are still unbroken today.

The consumption of an average of 2,38 litres per 100 kilometres has brought an entry into the Guinness book of records as the most economical production car in the world.

In July 1974 built, the Golf I, “Alaska-land of fire”, one of the oldest series of Golf. A further brilliant yellow Golf I went there in October 1974 on the longest test drive of a new model: 30.517 miles, from Fairbanks (Alaska) to Ushuaia (Argentina).

Forever summer – 70 years of beetle Cabriolet
In 1949, Volkswagen introduced the type 1 (“beetle”), for the first time as an open Version in the series. To the 70-year anniversary, Volkswagen Classic presents two extremely rare copies of: a convertible Karmann (type 151) of 1949, the first year of production, and a Cabriolet hebmueller (type 14A) of 1950, one of only 696 built copies.
Youth screwed – the Apprentice project, Volkswagen Osnabrück
Exceptional education station: Fábio Lopes and Marvin Wiethölter restore since December, 2018 a type 3 TL, including engine conversion to a type 4. At the Techno Classica, the budding Automotive mechatronics technicians for System and high-voltage technology at Volkswagen Osnabrück will fit the 1968 classic finish.
The world of Volkswagen classics
Volkswagen Classic shows nine exhibits from its own collection, the Foundation auto Museum Volkswagen and the Autostadt in Wolfsburg.
