14.5.2019 Munich. Ott Tanak and the ADAC rally Germany – the fit obviously well. In 2017, the quick Este in Germany’s world Cup run was able to celebrate the second WRC victory of his career and is the successor to last year’s winner Sébastien Ogier.
2018 Tänak took his victory in the Saarland and underlined that he is one of the best riders in the world. So, in this year, the 31-Year-old to win to the start of the season in Sweden and last weekend in Chile is one of the Top favorites in the German FIA world rally championship, run (22. to 25. August).
In this Interview, he, what he likes about the ADAC Rallye Deutschland is especially explained.

I was in Germany and had always been a good package at the Start, this has given me a lot of self-confidence. The ADAC Rallye Deutschland is very special. An event with a lot of different characters and coverings, so that your car must really work well everywhere.
In 2017, they have won in Germany, with Ford, in 2018, with Toyota. What are the differences, if you compare the two achievements?
On my first Germany win the external conditions were very difficult because it had rained on the first day. We have made a good tyre choice, and then identified the difference in the end. In 2018, it went a bit different: at first, there was a big battle between us and Séb [Anm. – Sébastien Ogier], until he had then on the second armor plate test bad luck and, unfortunately, a flat tire attracted.

The most important skill is to be able quickly to changing conditions and very different stages. In the vineyards requires a lot of concentration, on the fast forest roads is asked to trust and to the armor plate you have the best of both abundant – it is just a very versatile event.

Since the stages are so different, you need a very wide Setup window, the car works well everywhere. The tests themselves are beautiful – especially at the beginning when everything is still nice and clean. In the case of the second passages quite a bit of Dirt on the track, what complicates the issue further is most often. Quite often, the weather makes the ADAC Rallye Deutschland for Surprises and suddenly everything on the head.
Which stages are more to your button – in the vineyards or on the troop exercise area Baumholder? And why?
All the stages are very challenging. The wine I enjoyed the mountains in the past few years, but to be honest a little more. To drive In Baumholder, so a lot of fun. But it is always somewhat difficult to fully attack. The standing stones make pretty risky and that is why I’m so not particularly keen to go to the Limit – however, we have no other choice.

Yes, I see there is always a lot of people. For the Fans, it is also a great thing that you can keep track of a location, two stages and is constantly somewhere Action is required. The Power stage of the ADAC Rallye Deutschland will take place this year in the vineyards. What does this mean, in your opinion, for the voltage?
In the vineyards, an error happens. There are many different Branches that look very similar, but it’s not of course. Experience has shown that the time intervals in the vineyards are very low. In this respect, everything speaks for a very exciting Power Stage.

For ADAC members of the rally Pass costs in advance, 65 Euro (Non-members 70 euros).
