BMW works driver Bruno Spengler and Nick Catsburg to take part in the “ADAC Digital GT500”

23.8.2019 Munich. For the second Time this season, BMW factory rider swap your cockpit of the BMW race cars in which they compete worldwide, against a racing simulator.

Bruno Spengler (CAN) and Nick Catsburg (NED) will compete on the 31. August in the framework of the SimRacing EXPO at the Nürburgring (GER) as “BMW Team Green Hell” with some of the best Sim racers in the world. In may Catsburg had been participating together with BMW factory driver Philipp Eng (AUT) already on the “BMW 120 at Le Mans”.

“Sim-Racing is one of my great passions, and I am very happy that I have thanks to the support of BMW Motorsport at the Nürburgring, together with Bruno against some of the best Sim racers in the world compete,” says Catsburg. “I’ve already seen in the case of my first use with Philipp, how incredibly strong the competition is. I have before, what they are doing in the racing simulator, with the greatest respect. Nevertheless, Bruno and I are, of course, to come to the virtual BMW M8 GTE as far forward as possible to the finish.“

The “ADAC Digital GT500” are a total of 24 high class Teams from all over the world at the Start. The winner of the “BMW 120 at Le Mans,” Laurin Heinrich and Alexander Voss (both GER) from the Williams Esports Team. The two had been invited as a reward for their Triumph in may by BMW Motorsport as a VIP guest to the Le Mans 24 hours (FRA).

The “ADAC Digital GT500” will take place on 31. August as one of the highlights of the SimRacing EXPO at the Nürburgring instead. The prize money is 5,000 Euro. Spengler and Catsburg wants to contest the race in a faithful virtual Version of the BMW M8 GTE, with both drivers, real-world racing experience have been collected. The Basis for The race offers the world’s leading Sim Racing platform with iRacing. To the world’s first Full-Motion simulator are used, which make the driving feel as realistic as never before appear.
