6.9.2019. Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and Dallara Automobili S. p. A have announced to announce that Aldo Costa, Technical adviser of the team, want to join as from the year 2020 as the Chief Technical Officer of the world’s leading racing car manufacturer.
Aldo stepped back last year from his previous role as Engineering Director, and supported the Team since then, in the course of the season in 2019 in a consultant role. At the same time, he took the opportunity to spend more time with his family in Italy.
His new role as CTO of Dallara Automobili S. p. A offers him the opportunity of his career closer to his home to continue on a remarkable breadth of racing and car work mobile projects, and to promote the next Generation of Italian engineering talent – an approach that he has already during his time at Mercedes is actively promoted.
Aldo wants to adjust his work at Mercedes at the end of September and to push from the beginning of 2020 Dallara.

“Since I resigned from my Post as an Engineering Director, I supported the Team with a lot of joy during this season and at the same time, according to my next challenge outside of the formula 1 look-out kept. After many years in the Premier class of Motorsport, I am eager to see some of my experience in other racing series and for High-Performance automotive projects away from the racing use. I still remember how I advertised at the beginning of my career in Giampaolo. At that time there was no vacancy, but he could open some doors in the industry. Now, many years later, it feels as if the circle for me would close. I’m really proud of myself of this iconic Italian motor sport forge connect. One of my passions is to encourage young talents.
