Jens Marquardt (BMW Group Motorsport Director):

“The first home game for BMW i, Andretti Motorsport, this coming weekend is something very Special for us. As ‘Official Vehicle Partner’ is BMW i connected to season 1 closely with the formula E. Since the 2018 BMW i is also the title partner of the BMW i Berlin E-Prix. Now we come for the first Time as a race team on the site of Tempelhof airport – and the aim of the great potential of the BMW iFE.18 in the corresponding results turn. So far, we were in our debut season well underway and with António Félix da Costa, in spite of some UPS and Downs still fully in the race for the drivers ‘ title. The entire Team is fully motivated to offer the German Fans in Berlin on the track on a good Show.“

Alexander Sims (#27 BMW iFE.18):

“So, at the home race for our Team and BMW I’ll be back on a new track. I was able to prepare myself in the Simulator well and I have the impression that the course is significantly wider than the typical narrow city courses, where we are with the formula E often on-the-go. Overtaking seems possible, what is likely to make the Racing especially for the Fans more interesting. The unusual race format, with the practice sessions on Friday and Qualifying on Saturday is a new challenge. But I am very much looking forward.“

António Félix da Costa (#28 BMW iFE.18):

“I am really looking forward to the home race for BMW i, Andretti Motorsport in Berlin. Our package is very good, and I think that we should get on the track at Tempelhof airport along well. Unfortunately, we were not able to retract last the hoped-for results, but I’m still in the race for the drivers’ title. Hopefully we can report it to us in Berlin and important points.“
