During his visit to the Taraxagum Lab of Continental in Anklam, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (MV), has informed the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the research laboratory and the status of the development of rubber made from dandelion. He met in the framework of its “Land in sight”-a journey through Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, scientists and managers of the tyre manufacturer from Hanover.
Continental investigated in Anklam the cultivation and processing possibilities of the Plant as a rubber source; in the long term, a part of the rubber needs of the entity to be extracted from dandelion.
Continental had the research lab at the beginning of December last year, after a construction period of only one year in operation. There are a total of around 35 million euros will be invested.
In the future, 20 employees will work in the laboratory.
