How did you celebrated the second victory in the DTM?

On Sunday evening there was in the Audi Hospitality a Get-together. It was nice, with the whole Team and Audi-all of the good weekend to initiate. After that, I’m with my Crew, the mechanics and engineers, on the Adriatic coast, moved on. There you can celebrate a success. We know more together and even more motivated to repeat as soon as possible.

How many WhatsApp messages you get after the victory?

There was, in fact, very many congratulations. It is nice to see that the people cheer and Be happy to be a part of. Long-term companions and the important people in my career, as our former boss, Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, there was news about you will be happy of course.

After the victory at Misano, it went to Neuburg, where you soccer star Thomas Müller driving have hours. Müller at the double, so to speak …

To meet Thomas Müller is an absolute Highlight. He is a totally cool guy, totally on the ground, still and very relaxed. He has done well behind the Wheel well. To move a race car like the Audi R8 LMS GT4 at the Limit, is not so easy. He has to push quickly married the car and had a lot of fun. For me, it was an honor to give him a bit of driving skills on the way to coach him a little bit and to give a taxi ride in the Audi RS 5 DTM, a little taste of the DTM. It was for both of us to have a really great day.

Are you interested in football? Soon the Audi Cup held in Munich, Yes again.

I’m admittedly not the biggest football fan and so not a particularly talented footballer. But I follow what happens there. These sports do not enjoy such a large interest that comes around there’s even a drum. In my home, the Berner Young Boys have a good run. You have the scene in Switzerland in the handle, which I’m very happy. I also had the opportunity to see FC Bayern München in the Allianz Arena live. The atmosphere that reigns there, is this passion for the Club, the absolute upper hammer. In Germany, every year, is the team to beat. Prior to that, you can draw as an athlete, only the has.

Back to the DTM. On the weekend of the Noris ring is on the program.

On the Norisring, I’m extremely looking forward to. This is a track I have very many beautiful memories. There, I’ve won in 2016, my first DTM race. But in 2018 we were there, Audi-internally strong on-the-go. I felt at the norisring has always been good. I like city courses in General and go with a good feeling there. I am motivated to top and well prepared.

The Noris ring is only 2.3 km long, what makes it still so difficult?

In fact, there are only four curves. The Layout looks simple. But we go there on otherwise public roads. There are many small hidden challenges. The track is quite uneven. The flooring changed from year to year, we need to learn the track each Time. And unlike normal race tracks you have buttons from below step-by-step to the Limit, because between the walls and guard rails every little error you dearly. And the distances are minimal. At the norisring, it goes to the hundredth.

Between the two DTM races in Misano and at the norisring, you were at the E-Prix in Bern. How did you get the formula E race in your hometown is experiencing?

The day of racing at the E-Prix in Bern what is absolutely awesome. The spectator interest, what huge. The Support that I have felt, although I didn ‘t drive, which is cool. I think I never had such a long and intense autograph session. It is nice to see that the people share in my own passion.

For the formula E you’ve dispensed with even on the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

It was extremely weird to stand after five years, for the first time at the Start. It is, in my opinion, the hardest 24-hours race in the world. Audi Sport wins there is an absolute upper class. Congratulations! I hope I can in the future so will be back at the Start and to fight for the victory.

What do you think you for the norisring?

Last year, BMW was very strong there, and are they likely to be this year. But of course we don’t know where we are at the norisring in comparison to Aston Martin. We need to focus on us and again a top Job. Then I see no reason why we should not re-order the major points fighting.
