11.4.2019 Stuttgart. Sustainability is one of the essential elements of the corporate strategy of Daimler, and at the same time, a scale for entrepreneurial success.
The sustainable strategy includes the process of product development as well as sustainability in the supply chain, environmental supply is in the works, the use phase of the products and mobility services, data responsibility, as well as dealing with the employees and key stakeholders. In short: the entire value-added process.
A clear aim of Daimler is to reduce the emissions of every vehicle in the entire value-added chain in a sustainable and significant. “This strategy we want to tackle in the future even more focused on the group as a whole across all lines of business,” says Ola Källenius, member of the Board of management of Daimler AG, responsible for group research and Mercedes-Benz Cars development. “We are, as a group, to our social and environmental responsibility. Therefore, we pursue a sustainable corporate strategy. We are convinced that only responsible business conduct allows for a long-term economic success.“
Further focus topics of the Daimler sustainability strategy are human rights and data security: “We integrate sustainability in our everyday business. Example of this is the protection of human rights in supply chains, we are a pioneer in the automotive industry, or the responsible use of data,“ says Renata Jungo Brüngger, in the Board of management of Daimler AG responsible for integrity and legal Affairs.
The importance of sustainability continues to grow – in the Public and in the company. So, Daimler is currently developing group-wide a new, sustainable corporate strategy, to be presented in the course of the year.
